Stu Hay

Stu Hay

FPSB No:

Stu has always had a very strong interest in finance, for as long as he can remember. Ever since his Mom explained to him as a child that his name means “The keeper of the money”.

After completing his commerce degree at the University of Calgary, he immediately started in the financial advisory business with a large national firm at the tender age of 21 . The timing didn’t prove to be right at that point in his life however, and he decided to take advantage of a career opportunity in the search industry, always with the intent to return to financial planning eventually.

He spent the next 17 years in the recruiting field helping to match businesses with strong employees and consultants. This culminated with his last role as a Partner with a global Executive search firm. Stu enjoyed those years immensely and always found it extremely rewarding each time he helped a great candidate with their ideal career move or while helping companies to find the perfect candidate for a position that required exceptional skills.

Korina Fandrick

Korina Fandrick

FPSB No:

Korina’s calm demeanor can be misleading, as she can hold her own with the ‘get’er done’ attitude she inherited along with her small town Alberta roots. This certainly stems in part from being raised by a single mother who emphasized the importance of independence, integrity and perseverance from a young age. That said, the paper route started at age 7, she bought her first vehicle well in advance of receiving her Driver’s License, and finished high school early to work full-time prior to post-secondary.

Korina began her investment industry career in 2000, and has made Milestone her permanent home since 2006. She holds both her Certified Financial Planner™ designation and insurance licenses, with a specialization in financial planning. She also holds the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst™ and Chartered Investment Manager™ designations.

The rationale for specializing in financial planning speaks to the reason why she chose this field in the first place; she thrives on building and nurturing relationships. She takes great pride in the fact that she gets to assist clients in all areas of their financial world, acting as their personal CFO, allowing them to live life in keeping with their own family, professional and recreational goals. She certainly practices what she preaches in this regard, as these goals are very top of mind for her, and have led to her tenacious pursuit of keeping herself healthy and balanced inside and out.

Born in Calgary and moving shortly thereafter to Northern Alberta, Korina was raised in a small farming community with one older brother. Having returned to Calgary at age 12, she’s now spent the majority of her life in Calgary and the surrounding area, although her country roots remain and have definitely grounded her. With this blended exposure she’s built an appreciation for the finer things in life, especially from a culinary perspective, as well as an appetite for adventure in both travel and sport. Mentoring is another passion, having been a Big Sister for several years before moving onto a more informal role with University students.

Dave Nickle

Dave Nickle

FPSB No:

Dave Nickle graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 1995 with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. In 1996 he started his career in financial planning as a representative of Investors Group.

While studying for his CFP (Certified Financial Planner) exams he felt strongly that he would be better able to serve his clients by becoming an independent financial planner. In early 2000, he made a big decision – to leave Investors Group and go out on his own, as an independent financial planner.

After spending a quarter century in this industry, Dave will tell you without any doubt, that the most important determinant of real-life, long-term investment outcomes is not investment performance. Rather, it is investor behaviour.

By keeping clients focused on a rational, well thought out financial plan, they have prospered for over two decades. During all this time, Dave has successfully navigated his clients through countless corrections, and more than a few nasty bear markets & recessions. Maintaining discipline through all of these challenging events was key to achieving very pleasing long term results.

Dean Kendall

Dean Kendall

FPSB No:

Fortunately, in 2008 after 16 years in business I experienced a dramatic positive transformation both personally and professionally. I decided it was critical to integrate and align three key areas – your most deeply held values, your most important goals (financial and nonfinancial) and all your financial affairs, in order to help you live your ideal life.

It was inspiring to break away from the industry norm and follow a client centered methodology and process that provides a higher fiduciary standard than any related governing and/or regulatory body in Canada.

As a result you experience a one-of-a-kind process that gives you the highest probability of achieving what is most important to you, enhancing your quality of life and actualizing your ideal financial future.
